The Certifications Every ASE-Certified Technician Should Have | in Lake Forest, CA

REV UP YOUR CAREER: THE TOP CERTIFICATIONS EVERY ASE-CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN NEEDS

WHAT CERTIFICATIONS DO ASE-CERTIFIED TECHNICIANS NEED?

Many industries in the United States have various governing bodies establishing industry standards. The automotive field is no different. It features the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellent(ASE). You can work with the ASE without certification, but that certification may determine your level of success.

THE MUST-HAVE CERTIFICATIONS FOR ASE-CERTIFIED TECHNICIANS

Certification is in place to maintain the quality of vehicle repair and service. A SE certification does not come from a regulatory body but will vouch for your reputation as a mechanic. Remember that ASE certification works differently than you might expect. Everyone within your facility can be certified ASAP, but the shop must be elsewhere. Students can work towards their accreditation before graduating. ASE has a unique process for accrediting repair programs aside from certification. ASE will certify you in maintenance and light repair, automobile service in technology, engine repair, automatic transmission, manual drivetrain and axles, suspension and steering, brakes, electrical systems, auto air-conditioning, and engine performance. They were also certified in collision repair and refinish or medium and heavy truck areas. They offer several levels of testing, such as the A series or B series. According to the ASC, based on your work history, you can claim experience in one or more of the following areas. Repair technician if you have worked 1 to 3 years, a part specialist if you've worked two years, a collision damage estimator if you've worked for two years, or a service consultant if you've worked for two years. You can then take the ASE test to distinguish yourself in certain areas.

It's summertime, and we are ready for a clean, shiny car to cruise the streets in. Here are some DIY auto detailing tips to get your car looking great again! Let's start with the leather If you have leather upholstery, buy a leather-cleaning kit and keep it in the vehicle. When you clean the oops and spills right away, you dramatically increase your chances of a complete cleanup without signs of an accident. If you wait, lipstick, ink, dye, and lipstick transfer from clothing (and plastic shopping bags) and can become permanent in as little as 24 hours. Pretreat your leather with a conditioner before you start the stain removal process. Wipe the leather down with a pre-treater, and then apply leather cleaner and the leather protection cream. Lubricate your hood hinges Before applying grease or oil, be sure to wipe down the hinges first. We recommend white lithium grease or a few drops of any ordinary motor oil. Move the hinge several times to work the grease in. and work it into both sides of each hinge. Once you are done, wipe away any excess to keep it from collecting debris.

It is common knowledge that before your kiddo can step onto the field, they have to get to a doctor for a sports check-up. Your car needs a similar check-up from your local mechanic shop. This can easily catch and prevent an issue before it grows into a big expensive one. We encourage you to schedule your car in for a professional inspection 3 times per year. Preventive maintenance gives you peace of mind; it also can save you thousands of dollars in repairs when a professional catches an issue early. The professional Auto Mechanics at Foothill Auto Service are trained to detect warning signs, preventing a small issue from snowballing into a large and expensive one. If you are looking to build a relationship with an auto mechanic, it is time to meet the friendly folks at Foothill Auto Service. When you have a mechanic shop familiar with your vehicle and is already in their system, you have a team you can turn to for all questions and concerns. Do you love to tinker? We have a few tips for items to check yourself to help keep your car in good condition. Replacing your cabin air filter regularly washing your vehicle changing out your wiper blades If you are handy and ambitious, other maintenance tasks are also necessary. Oil changes Belt, and hose replacements Tire rotations Battery inspections Most often, it is best to leave this to the professionals, as they not only have a trained eye to detect any anomalies, they also have proper equipment, and document any wear and tear that they see, and also keep their eye out for other issues arising in the future.
